I KASSENFRISCH UNCIRCULATED
Eine vollkommen ungebrauchte Note. Sauberes, festes Papier, ohne jegliche Farbveränderung, scharfe Ecken. A perfectly preserved note, never mishandled by the issuing authority, a bank teller, the public or a collector. Paper is clean and firm, without discoloration. Corners are sharp and square.
 
I- FAST KASSENFRISCH ABOUT UNCIRCULATED
Leichte Knickfalte in der Mitte der Note. Leichter Knick an einer Ecke, jedoch nicht beides zusammen A virtually perfect note. May show evidence of Bank counting, folds at a corner or one light fold through the center, but not both.
 
II VORZÜGLICH EXTREMELY FINE
Bis zu drei leichte Falten oder ein starker Knick. Die Ecken dürfen nur wenig gerundet sein. A very attractive note. May have a maximum of three light folds or one strong crease. Corners may show only the slightest evidence of rounding.
 
III SEHR SCHÖN VERY FINE
Die Note darf eine Reihe von Längs- oder Querfalten haben. Das Papier ist leicht angeschmutzt, die Farbe zum Teil etwas angegriffen An attractive note. May have a number of folds both vertically and horizontally. Paper may have minimal dirt, or possible color smudging.
 
IV SCHÖN FINE
Eine Note, die deutliche Umlaufspuren zeigt, zahlreiche Falten und Knicke hat. Das Papier ist noch nicht allzusehr verschmutzt, hat aber schon etwas von seiner Festigkeit eingebüßt. A note which shows considerable circulation, with many folds, creases and wrinkling. Paper is not excessively dirty, but may have some softness.
 
V SEHR GUT VERY GOOD
Eine stärker gebrauchte Note, aber noch nicht zerrissen. Die Ecken defekt und abgerundet, die Farbe teilweise verändert. Durch starkes Falten kann gelegentlich schon ein Loch vorhanden sein A well used note, abused but still intact. Corners may have much wear and rounding, tiny nicks, tears may extend into the design. Some discoloration may be present, and a small hole may be seen at center from excessive folding.
 
VI GUT GOOD
Eine sehr stark gebrauchte Note. Stärkere Verschmutzung, Einrisse, kleinere Löcher, Verfärbungen. Mit handschriftlichen Aufschriften aller Art. A well worn and heavily used note. Normal damage from prolonged circulation will include strong multiple folds and creases, stains and/or staple holes, dirt, discoloration, edge tears, center hole. Graffiti is commonly seen on these notes.
 
VII GERING ERHALTEN FAIR
Eine total zerschlissene Note, schmutzig, eingerissen. Eigentlich nur als Lückenfüller bei äußerst seltenen Noten zu gebrauchen. A totally imp, dirty and very well used note. This note is desirable only as a "filler" or in case such a note is the only one known of that particular issue.
